The story of two rings & two miracles

The story of two rings & two miracles

by Michelle | 26 Jan 2020 | Art of Joyful Living, General

Do you believe in Miracles? Do you know deep down in your belly you have absolute influence over your reality? Do you have ‘nay-sayers’ around you whose default is ‘that’s not possible’ but you believe it anyway?… I want to share...

Hey there, lovely to meet you. Thank you for popping in to visit!

I know I’ve been pretty quiet here - not much po I know I’ve been pretty quiet here - not much posting, not much commenting.

That’s because there’s been a big chunk of every day for the last two months in the studio getting works finished for my upcoming exhibition with @judewhiteart called ‘Ash, Mud & Tears’.

The show is exploring the experience of living through the #blacksummerbushfires in 2019/20 and the #floods2022 early last year.

As you know my enameling studio was stored in my friend @kylie_gartside’s studio and her entire building went under. The impact was. and still is devastating 13 months on. Still so much upheaval.

The bushfires while a few more years ago, still are very real as I reconnect and spend time @binnaburra - a place dear to my heart that saw the historic Lodge burnt to the ground.

The image are details of two works in the show called ‘Holding it Together’ II and III. The recovery is slow and many people directly affected by the fires and floods still struggle with the most basic of things - shelter, work, mental health.

If you’re in #northernrivers during May and June please visit at @nrcgballina in Cherry Street Ballina. We’d love to see you.

When things get really busy in the studio, I find When things get really busy in the studio, I find I step away from a lot of social media and so you won’t have seen me posting that often here lately.

The good news is, I am making progress. 🤩

Works are slowly taking shape from ideas that have been floating around in my head for the last year to something that I can sit and look at.

These pics are work-in-progress shots of details from a few of the sculptural pieces that are this week’s focus. They are sitting on my jewellery bench and I am pondering the next steps that are needed.
(And trying not to forget anything that is critical as I go!).
