Michelle Walker
Michelle Walker, an Earth Artist with an art/nature/science background, delves into the bonds that unite us with our landscapes. Her art is a visceral response to Australia’s terrain, driven by 25+ years of environmental planning expertise. Michelle channels memories of place and the essence of her materials into potent 2D and 3D artworks.
Graduating with a BFA from QCA majoring in sculpture in 2008, she has consistently shown in group and joint exhibitions. Since 2020, Michelle has dedicated herself exclusively to her art practice, held two solo shows in Brisbane and in 2023, a collaborative project, Ash, Mud & Tears at NRCG, Ballina and recently public art sculptures in SWELL Sculpture Festival and Brunswick Nature Sculpture Walk.
The dramatic profile of Wollumbin (Mt Warning) and the landscape of the Tweed Caldera in northern New South Wales where Michelle lives and creates has a strong influence on her artwork.
Her artwork has featured on multiple book covers and her sculpture, jewellery and paintings are held in collections in Australia and the US.

Teacher
Michelle teaches pigment work, silversmithing, jewellery enameling, painting and artist book-making in northern NSW and southern Queensland.
Her online course, Paint Your heART is for beginners wanting to explore painting in acrylics.
Since 2019, Michelle has been a visual arts tutor for Byron College, NSW.
